Milan Fashion Week (#MFW17)

From Wednesday 20 September 2017, until Monday, the Grand Kermesse of the Milanese Fashion Week will be return with the presentation of the collections of the most important fashion houses for the 2018 Spring Summer season, with over 170 Fashion shows planned in the city.
The novelty of this 2017 edition is that the traditional week ( starting September 20 ) will be joined by the new Milan XL project - The Italian Creativity Festival, which from September 16 to 26 will make the city a stage for the many productions of excellence that, just like fashion, make Made in Italy unique for creative ability and high-end products.
Born from the collaboration between the Ministry of Economic Development, the Milan City Council, Confindustria, Altagamma Foundation and with the support of the Ice Agency, Milan XL exhibits Italian manufactures through six major installations (Montenapoleone, Piazzetta Croce Rossa, Piazza San Carlo , La Rinascente, Galleria e Piazza della Scala), realized with the artistic direction of Davide Rampello ( former President of the La Triennale Foundation in Milan ) and the scenic design of Margherita Palli.
Another novelty for this season : September 24, at the Scala Theater  will take place the first edition of the Green Carpet Fashion Awards, the Sustainable Fashion Oscars, which will premiere both well-established brands and young talents.
The same evening will also be awarded the Franca Sozzani Gcc emerging designer of the year award, titled Vogue Italia's director, who disappeared last December. From hundreds of candidates have been selected five and the winner will have the opportunity to present their collection to the February 2018 issue of Milano Moda Donna (Autumn / Winter collections 19)
Among the locations that will be the protagonists of the week will be once again the Sala delle Cariatidi di Palazzo Reale, la Fabbrica del Vapore and il Museo della scienza e della tecnologia.

The fashion week of Milan was founded in 1958 and is part of the "Big Four", or four events considered to be particularly important in fashion capitals. The other three weeks of "Big Four" fashion are those of New York, London and Paris.
The program starts with New York, followed by London, then Milan, and ends with Paris.
The fashion week of Milan is organized by the Italian National Chamber of Fashion and promotes the development of Italian fashion.
CNM is responsible for organizing events related to fashion in Milan. Traditionally, the fashion week took place at the Fiera di Milano via Gattamelata, but in 2010 the event was organized at Fashion Hub.
Women's fashion events are the highlight of the fashion week, and particularly "Womenswear", "Milan SS Women Ready to Wear" and "Milano Moda Donna" are the most important fashion shows.
